New Nike Campaign: Ramos, Fabregas, Drogba, Cole and Arshavin
By: Lotte Cox | January 22nd, 2009Nike have a new line of jackets — V for Victory, geddit? — and for the ad campaign, they’re photographing their favorite athletes both in the jacket and shirtless, with the V emblazoned on their chests. The shirtless Sergio Ramos one is proving elusive (I know, it’s a crime), but those of Cesc Fabregas, Didier Drogba, Joe Cole, and Andrei Arshavin really do help with the pain. (Plus, they all get bigger if you click on them, which is also nice.)

Clean, dressed, and rocking the new gear.

He may be out on the outs with his club, but the man is looking good.

Look at that serenity! How is he not sneezing?

Living his fantasy of being in Oasis.

Trying (and failing) to be hard.

Allowing his true, inner dork to shine through.

Hee, great stuff!
Arshavin is way too cute to look hardcore. Despite being 27 he looks 14..Posted from

That Cesc, what a QT!
Arshavin… I am so glad the campaign kept the goofy picture. The “Hard” look just makes me giggle.
So did anyone at Nike thing about what it means in Britain to make a “V” symbol with the back of your hand pointing out?
Cole, Didi, and Cesc knows what that means.

No way, he is 27! I thought he was like 20.
What a babyface. Maybe he should try growing a beard.

@ Kasia: He is so, so adorable! And sounds like sort of a pain in the ass, but with that face, who can resist him?
@ Johonna: I was wondering the same thing about the V sign! Ramos, at least, looks like he knows exactly what he’s doing and is very pleased to have gotten away with it.

Yep Lottie, Ramos definitely looks like he knows what he’s really doing. Arshavin – not at all.
Johonna, he would probably just end up looking like a kid with a fake beard…Posted from

Not to mention how long it’d take Arshavin to grow a beard, Kasia! Can you imagine? He’d be 30 before the thing was more than just fuzz.

Arshavin gets the “most adorable dimple” award. And Drogba succeeds with that “hardcore” thing.

The scapulaire, it’s such a Girondins thing. They should shoot Gourcuff.

I just wonder what is in that powder. Notice the helpers are all wearing masks. But hey, what’s a little lead and mercury… So long as you look hot in the end, that is all that matters!

Mustn’t make weird, mask marks on their faces! Their lungs will recover eventually. Probably.

Must be the first time in history that a shirtless picture of Sergio is hard to find…

You nailed it when you captioned the Arshavin photo as him allowing his true, inner dork to shine through. (What a fantastic footballer, though!) In the same spirit, here’s another pic that you might enjoy:
