I Love Dressing Room Celebrations

Maybe it is the joy of the players or their camaraderie that makes them so appealing. All that singing and laughing… Oh, who am I kidding? It is the hot football players jumping around in their undies!

Here is a little taste of what I mean. This is a Lega Pro team from Italy (like C2 or something), but it doesn’t matter. The joy, the bonding, the matching briefs (and all that water) – what is not to love?

For some people that you might actually recognize, I give you Roma after they won the Italian league in 2001. Watch for the long-haired Francesco Totti in his tidy whiteys:

And Inter Milan in 2007 after they won their 15th Scudetto, Nico Burdisso figures prominently in this one (turn the sound down, trust me):

  Celebration videos are so cute. And always good for a few lolz, but that moment in the first one where the camera suddenly pans down for a close up butt shot? Haaaaa priceless.

  I wonder sometimes how these guys feel about cameras in the dressing room. A little while back I was watching an interview with a player from a Ligue 1 team (by the team channel), in the dressing room, while the other players were hanging out in various states of undress, including one guy who was buck naked….

  Raises all kinds of interesting questions about the limits of selling one’s body’s labour and whether the male body is sexualized in the public gaze as the female body is.

  But that’s a bit heavy, so I’ll just say that the tall guy with the facial hair in the first vid? No clue who he is, but I so would.

  Jones, I see that frequently in official L1 videos, too — I always wonder what the hell the editing guys are doing when they leave the nudity in, more out of vague concern for the privacy of the players than our delicate sensibilities. What’s really interesting to me, though, is that it seems to be primarily gay sites that pick up those videos and cap and/or distribute them; one wonders if the clubs are aware of that at all, and are quietly appealing to that market with their editing (or lack thereof).
