Here’s Something to Start Off 2009

By: Ivanna Baller | January 1st, 2009

It’s our dearest wish that 2009 will feature even more stripping and sweaty manpiles from our favorite footballers. And naturally, our News Years resolution at the HABS Offside is to post as many of those pictures as possible.

While we’re waiting for the onslaught of gratuitous nudity, here’s a magazine spread from the year that just ended. While most of the players we cover are professional footballers who only take off their clothes by accident/when they think no one is looking/when they are celebrating on the pitch, there are some who enjoy taking their clothes off so much that they stop playing to become full time models.

Take Wagner Limeira for instance. He played professional for Brazilian football club Grêmio for over 12 years but decided to call it quits in favor of nude modeling. He also tried to be a contestant on Big Brother Brazil. I guess WAGs no longer corner that market.

If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, you can check out some of his nude pictures here. Totally NSFW by the way.

Ok, I’ll admit it, I had to follow the link. Yikes. I think I prefer the merely naughty photos above to the exceedingly nasty pictures that were linked in. “Nude modeling” is an euphemism – what he does is gay porn.

Not that there is anything wrong with that, he looks like a consenting adult.

I do wonder how you found these, though.

I confess to clicking on the link too. And…damn. Now I have to both clear my browser history and wonder why gay guys find that sexier than, say, black bikini underwear. Or something.

What I’m also wondering is what’s up with the photo where he’s completely and totally nude, except for cleats. Did he just wake up one day and say, “I feel a need to go kick the ball around at the park”? And then did he get there and think, “Oh, dammit. Forgot my clothes again.”

I always hate when I do that.

Johonna: I agree, sometimes a little clothing is better than none at all, no matter how good looking the guy. The interesting thing about him is that while he’s more than happy to pose in gay men’s magazines, he’s actually straight.

Amanda Leerat: The naked except for the cleats thing seems to be more common than you’d think. I’ve come across similar shots with other players (I think I posted one of Sergio Ramos in this blog actually).

Also, has anybody else noticed that he has a four-pack rather than a six-pack? Just commenting, not complaining. His up-and-down ab muscles are the longest I’ve ever seen.

    P.S. Welcome back, Ivanna.

Well, according to friends of mine who apparently are in the know, many of the men who model is “straight” magazines and such are gay, so it would follow that straight men would model for gay magazines, yes?
