The Loveliness of Philippe Mexes
By: Amanda Leerat | October 14th, 2008Philippe Mexes.
He is French by nationality, but he’s played for AS Roma for so long that the Italians consider him one of their own.
Unfortunately he is not yet Italian enough to disrobe at the drop of a hat. Most photos of Philou are disgustingly clothed. We’re not holding this against him, however. Instead, we’re desperately hoping that it’s only a matter of time.
UPDATE: In the news today: Philippe just got a three-match suspension for delivering a “bad insult” to a referee.
So pretty, and yet so bad.
And finally, check out Philippe with his son, Enzo. All together now: Awwww.

For some reason, Mexes doesn’t do it for me, though it might have more to do with his poor choice in teams than his unfortunate tendency to look like a barbie.
But his kid is really cute.

I dont care who he plays for, but he is just way to prissy for my tastes.

I generally agree with Johanna, but it’s hard not to love him a little for how totally unashamed he is of being much more girly than a lot of women. I mean, the man’s headband collection absolutely DWARFS mine, and he has way more purses than I do — it’s sort of adorable.

Lotte, I’m with you. It’s the combination of off-field Barbie and on-field killer that makes him interesting to me. The man is a walking red-card on the field, yet off the field he carries a man-bag and highlights his hair. That combo is surprisingly…interesting.

Here is a less-clothed picture for your collection.

see, I am not saying that I dont want to shopping with the man, only that none of those pictures make me want to lick my computer screen like the Zlatan and Ferrari pictures do.
Simple as that.

Mmm, I’d take Mexes over Ferrari any day. I don’t care that he spends more time at the hair salon than I do, he’d be on my fantasy football teams ten times out of ten.

You know, I never used to care one way or the other about Mexes, except generally disapproving of him for being a Roma player. But then two weeks ago he tried to bite off the ref’s face for carding him and had to get hauled off by Aquilani and de Rossi, and all of a sudden I feel faint when I look at him. The fact that he has adorable children and is in the habit of telling the Curva Nord to STFU does not help, no, not at all.
